Anyone know what this problem cud be? The car is a Golf mk4 gti. Was changing into 2nd gear, heard a bang, and clutch went right back to the floor, with no drive, a couple of bits fell on the floor inside the car

clutch gone bang, if it's lost drive its defanatly a box off job. then you get to see whats turned itself into shrapnel

if there are parts inside the car then it is most likely the clutch pedal.

Sounds like it's the end of the clutch cable parted company with the rest of it - there would have to be an almighty BANG to get shrapnel in the car otherwise!

Hopefully it will just be the clutch pedal, getting it fitted tomorrow, also a few clips, they seem to be the cause of the shrapnel.
