My clock doesn't work..
« on: 07 September 2004, 20:55 »
..which I find quite upsetting :(
The MFA works fine and all, but I can't adjust the time with a pointy stick like the manual suggests. Does anyone know what might be up, and if it may be possible to sort it without replacing the MFA?
It's a '91 valver, if that makes any difference.
Cheers guys

Mike

Take the fuse out for 30 seconds, that usually sorts it.  Mine is 3rd from the left, which also does the interior light and radio.

It should say on the back of the fusebox cover either way...

Or you could do the age old trick of pulling the fuse out then back in at midnight if the buttons still do not work.

Tried the fues trick; still doesn't work :(
I might do the midnight thing for the time being, as it does irritate me when it tells the wrong time.
John; how old is your car? I know they changed the electrics at some point - my fuse was no. 21, I think. That lising in the back of the cover is a godsend im the absence of a haynes manual.
Looks like I'll be having the instrument pack out, then ::)

So the clock works but the buttons don't?? Not much you can do about that then apart from swap in a new set of clocks.  You can swap the speedo round easily though so you keep your milage, just a case of removing the 8 screws at the back, and swapping the L-Shaped circuit board over, PM me if you need any more help :)

Mine is an 89, just before the electrics changed to CE2.
