Mk4 Suspension problems
« on: 20 September 2009, 10:28 »
Hi all,

been talking about this is the mk4 section and can't work anything out so thought i'd drop a note in here and see if anyone else has any ideas,

recently put a set of 18's on and the drivers side wheel now rubs a little when i go over bumps, the car is lowered by 40mm but since it's started rubbing i've had a closer look and also others have commented that the drivers side sits a couple mm lower than the passenger side,

i've checked that the hubs are both bolted at the same height (they have locating holes so no chance of error there) and also check all of the arch lining,

i'm not really sure what else to check,

any advice or help would be great,

Phil

as said the drivers side will sit slightly lower than the rest due to driver weight because there is always someone on that side of the car all the time that spring will always sit lower whether there is someone in the car or not, you also have the engine on that side as well which give's you the slight difference most cars are like this unless you have coil-overs and you can adjust it but don't worry this is normal as long as you have checked to make sure all is well under the car the other springs will settle down over a few months
hope you can understand my jabbering
