« on: 06 August 2009, 21:40 »
can anyone recommend any headlight bulbs that give a nice blue-White light??
I have just got some led side lights and the yellow headlight bulb looks stupid next to them!
Cheers!

Take a trip to halfrauds they sell all sorts of headlight bulbs and they do an ice blue bulb think they are about 15 quid,if you wanna do it properly tho and are talking about the lights that are on new car then you will be needing a HID conversion kit, very easy to fit just plug and play, they are about £100 but make sure you get the kit that does both main and full beam or else it will fail the mot for a nice blue look you will be look at a kit thats 8k up,the higher the K number the bluer the light but the more illegal they become also,6K Iis the one to go for if your goin down this route as its a nice white light and wound get you tugged or told off come mot time.

Hids are best but expensive and illegal as they dazzle other drivers (inc police) These are the best non hid bulbs. good price too.

Halfords bulbs break every month, and cost more than branded ones from powerbulbs.co.uk

I've got a set of Phillips Bluevision bulbs on the way for the Vento. I have Phillips X-Treme Power bulbs in the mk5 and their light output is fantastic. Much clearer, whiter and brighter than stock. The Bluevisions aren't meant to be as bright as X-Treme Power bulbs but have a bluer tint. I'll let you know how I get on with them.
Not low enough mk5
Not on the road enough mk3
