So far, I have not heard anything out of the ordinary from the engine side of things. Its pretty loud actually. No tingling feeling at 2400 rpm either. At that rpm, you are travelling at 80-90 km/h. right? Prolly at gear 6 already? Could it be because there is a lack of power? The kind you get when you try to accelerate but you are at the wrong gear kind of tingling or what? (changing to a high gear when you have not the speed)... Can you be more specific... I will go for a drive later and check...

Mine has the same sound. I've driven 4 gtis now and they all have it with differing degrees of loudness. Asked the head technician what it was and he said it was just the exhaust and not the heat shield and it's fine.

Thanks KVW......I actually quite like the sound....just wanted to make sure it wasn't a big issue :-) ...the dealer said the same thing and if I want to drive another one I can come down to compare...
