Theres 2 belts, one drive the alternator and this is the fatter belt of the two and the thinner belt goes around the other 3 pulleys, nothing goes under anything the belt in question goes around the outside of the 3 pulleys to make kinda an off circle.

i mean the altenator belt the wide one  where it comes off the crank round the w/p and then the altenator i was wondering if the belt ran on the top or the bottom of the water pump. thanks

TBH I'm unsure if it is the water pump at the bottom, but the belt goes like this:

Golf MK3 1.8 auto and I didn't pay a grand for the "priveledge", auto windows all round and a AC. Oh and I've got a luggage net you pricks!

Does that make my willy look bigger?

Oh yeah it's called Helda or something....

I think it is the w/p the other belt is for the power steering pump anyway the belt should be on the pulleys there is no where else for it to go, usually grooved belt and pulleys.

Yeh there is only one way for this belt to go on as it is grooved?! anyway it goes round the outside of the pulleys the grooves sit in the grooves.
