Trackday shocks
« on: 30 July 2009, 14:28 »
The Golf failed it's MOT on a leaking front shock and a rear caliper that is dead. Currently running Koni Top Adjustables but these are an eye watering £270 for a pair delivered. I can't really afford them and wondered what cheaper alternatives there are.

I love the way it handles on the Koni's and TBH I'm hesitant to replace them with anything else but if there are cheaper alternatives that are just about as good I'm all ears!

DannyP's got a good price on a pair of Konis for the front of his Syncro - ping him and he might point you in the right direction.

They do seem to work well at keeping the wheels on the floor (when there's oil in them).
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Cheers, I'll drop him a PM. I thought mine were fine TBH. Had no issue with them watsoever and car handles like a dream so I was dead surprised one of them failed. I'm half tempted to get a 2nd opinion but I do trust this garage as they've been MOTing my cars for a good few years with no problems before.
