New Bumper
« on: 27 July 2009, 18:28 »
Where is the best place to get a new rear bumper for a black, 1996 VR6 highline?  Mine is currently a little bit scruffy with the odd paint crack and a small hole, where something has hit it in the past.  It has a tow bar (which i want to remove) coming through the bottom valance.  Rather than trying to tidy it up i think i'm better off just getting a new bumper.

Are you looking for one already painted or are u prepared to get a new bumper then have it painted?? if its the latter then check out gpc they have an ad in the vw mags most months and are very good indeed! body and trim bits are usually genuine and there for much better then the ones ull get from euro car parts or gsf.
But if you want it painted already then ebay is your friend.

Biggest problem you will find with getting a ready painted one is Met and straight balck are hard colours to find s/h.

Probably gonna have to go new.  Problem with the highline bumpers is the whole things are coloured, with just the valance at the bottom being the plain plastic and i haven't seen those appear on ebay very often at all when i've been looking.  Got a mate who can do the spray job so i don't need to worry about screwing that up.
