paint code help

Hiya dubbers, wondering if anyone can help me out. I have recently purchased a metalic black Mk2 GTi G reg 8v and alais the paint code has come off gtom inside the boot. I need to do a bit of resto on the paintwork but I am stumped as to the paint code.

My questions are: is there another placethe paint code is recorded.
Or does anyone else own a car in this colour and if so whats the code please

The mk2 came in 3 different colour blacks, one of which is called black but looks grey so you can eliminate that one.

If you don't know the code best thing to do is to go to your local vag painters and they can give you the 2 samples and you can work out which one it is from there.

robin, go to halfords mate,  they matched my oak green 4 me, made it up there and then and it was a spot on match. jon
