Southern Smoker
« on: 21 July 2009, 08:35 »
Hi guys.
Just a quick hello - not sure if Im gonna get boo'd off the site so Ill tentatively introduce myself.
My name is Adam, Im from the bournemouth area and Im building a Mk2 Golf GTi Diesel. 1990 16v with the guts ripped out of it and a MK3 1Z TDi lump plopped in.
Sacralige I hear you cry..... well in its first state of tune it will be running about 140 BHP, (same as the original 16v) but about twice the torque, and twice the mpg...... not so bad.....

Anyways nice to meet you, and please dont hate me!

Cheers, Springer.

Interesting. Have you started it yet?

Welcome to the fun house. There are plenty of derv lovers over in the MK4 section.

Wow what a friendly bunch of guys - hello back to you all.

To anyone who is interested yeah the project is going really well ta - 1 year in and the complete loom, engine, gearbox, ecu, fusebox, fbw throttle, pedal box, hydraulic clutch...... blah blah from the mk3 has been grafted into the Mk2. So far so good. Got loads of pix and even some vid if anyone is intereseted??

Ill start a thread in the project section after the weekend, and Ill be asking a question about G60 twin pot brakes too. (Cos I think ebay has produced a set of duffers for me!!)

Cheers guys and nice to meet you all.

Adam
