mk1 gear linkage bushes

easy job to do?

mine is knackered and I have just seen this on mk1 owners club and it has filled me with dread  :sad:

Hi, we were chatting about it here http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=121979.0 not long ago.  It's easier than it looks.  took an hour the first time, go for it! would be a rip if you got someone else to do it.

most things are easier than they look mechanically... i am still dubious about the easiness though  :rolleyes:

easy mate, i started the last post as i was abit concerned on it, gfs kit is what i got in the end, all it is is just replacing what is already there, do 1 bush at a time, took me about 2 hrs to do the whole lot and well worth it! i even have 5th!!!!!

Seriously mate, piece of cake, you can just take 1 bit off at a time and replcae one at a time like scooby said, don't even need instructions. You'll be surprised how easy it is, i was. ans you really do feel like youve made such a big improvement on the car!
