When the Queen gets a car they would normally have leather as standard.  She has them modified so her seat is cloth.

Well, she doesn't have to think about bling!  She's got plenty already.

Where did you hear that by the way?

Thats what happens when money and thinking your too good for something mixes. You get a company to make you a one off cloth for your ass. Maybe sitting on leather when its warm triggers her incompitance, and we cant have her royal arse warming up too much on a hot day now can we.

Boy, that was not a nice thing to type.

It's the truth though.

Oh, can it.  One sarky comment is one thing, let's not make a soapbox of it.

"The Queen never sits on leather."  No reason given.  It's a custom one-off car, built absolutely to specification.  So they specify very very high-class cloth.

Big deal.  Still interesting that she doesn't rate leather seats, used as she must be to the blingest bling in all blingdom.

One option I wouldn’t select is leather trim. The standard tartan cloth just suits the car so well. In fact VW is planning on selling rolls of the fabric as an accessory for kilt-wearing GTI nuts. They probably wouldn’t have been able to do that with the old car’s trim – as with the rest of the new model’s cabin everything feels a little bit more upmarket this time around.

From here.  Quite fancy a kilt, really....
