Thanks for the input everyone. 
Most peoples opinions backup what I was already thinking. If I didn't know the cars history, (a mate who runs the local garage was the previous owner & maintained it regardless of cost) I would not have thought too long about it.

The VR is quality, and white isnt that bad.....I've got a white 8v (5 door) and with the black wheel arch trims it tones it down. Some of the newer VR's had body coloured bumpers as well and with those BBS they look the dogs. Not the best colour but still a VR.
