MAF sensors Bosch or other ? 1.8 20v t
« on: 29 June 2009, 08:22 »
Hi, as predicted by the lads from R Tech when they remapped my car, the MAF is on the way out, just looking into ordering a new one / replacement, blasting through ebay & noticed a big price difference between the Bosch units and some aftermarket models ? any one had experience with the cheaper units, some offer 3 year warrantys etc from between £30 - £50 ? I always prefer to run with original equipment but £100 is a lot of money !!!
Any advise will be appreciated...................

buy cheap, buy twice IMO

also it may be slightly easier returning a failed part to VW than some distant seller off Ebay

Hey Fella, cheers for that, I believe MAFs can be a nightmare, so will probably go for the Bosch option !! have you ever fitted one ?

Bosch every time :afro:

There will be two part numbers on your current MAF housing, one will be a VW part number and the other is the Bosch part number, just give these to the supplier to make sure you get the correct one

 happy days, Bosch unit bought from GSF for £57 inc vat, arrived this morning so will fit later, hope this works, also noticed a while back that the corrugated pipe from the MAF to the carbon fibre air box was cracked, so I have patched it up, just hoping this has not added to the problem !!!!
Ta for all your comments
