MOT result
« on: 19 August 2004, 11:31 »
 :'(

Went in for its MOT today, didnt think it would do too badly.....
Excessive play in steering rack
Offside Headlamp insecure
Corrosion offside floorpan
Corrosion nearside rear wheel arch
Corrosion near rear suspension mount
Corrosion near rear seatbelt harness.
 :o

They reckon im looking at at least 300 for the welding  >:(  :'(

Doesn't look like I'll be getting the cold start problem sorted.... dont even have enough room on the credit card to cover that at the moment! Won't have the car back till Tuesday earliest either  >:(  :'(

Seriously considering selling it now  :(

bizarre that its the nearside that has all the problems, its usually the offside that rots around the fuel flap then spreads outwards!!

your cold start will just be the temp sender i bet

I know its a pain in the ass now matey, but its sorted now & you ain't going to have to worry about it anymore. Somtimes it just comes with teritory mate. :-\

I had to have my suspension replaced for my mot, new rear caliper & some other bits & bobs all in all the whole lot cost me somwhere in the region of ?650. But i know it'll be cool next time round. & i still need my stem seals doing!!!! :-X

I know, I knew when I bought it I'd be in for a rough ride, just not this expensive a rough ride!!!  ::)

But either keep it or not I'm gonna have to have this work done, so I might as well find some cash (guess who leaves their job on monday  :-[ ) and think about it next year  ;)

Looks like im gonna be working like a dog at uni to keep this car alive  :(
one day it'll be mint though  ;) ..... (in a time far far away......)

P.S. its already started around the fuel filler..... but they didnt pickup on that one!

if its started going round the fuel filler then i would get the car up on a jack and have a good prod around the inner arch just to make sure it isnt rottin away

i checked mine recently to find it was being held together by the under seal basically!
