What a day!! grrr!
« on: 12 June 2009, 19:21 »
Okay started the day with good intentions, thinking i would quickly remove the hub and get the local garage to remove and press a new front wheel bearing in for me.

Welll that didnt happen, jacked up the car and went to put some axel stands underneath the reinforced sill area and found a rather bent lookin jacking point, Bollocks! This must have happended when a garage fitted some new tyres for me recently, as i saw them jack it up on the sill jacking points!
Took off all the sill covering and saw a nicely bent over jacking point with a nice area of rust around it and unfortunetly a tiny hole in the underside of the sill just big enough to get end of a screw driver in! Double bollocks!! Okay, rather than prat arorund with the wheel bearing  and  not support it how i would like i decided to book it into the Pc motors (bristol dub specialist) to get both front sill jacking points welded. (The other side was a tiny bit bent and a fair bit rusty. The rest of the sill on both sides of the car is immaculate.) Bloke there said can be done tomo at half ten tommorrow, cool, booked in. Fine!!

Then eating dinner i suddenly thought, bugger i still got that bloody aftermarket alarm system activating the immobiliser everytime i disconnect the battery, theyre gona disconnect the battery to weld it tomo and not be able to get the bloody thing off the ramp when finished!! Was going to get it sorted anyway so called a mobile auto electrican out who disconnected the alarm and all three of the points where the immobilser was cutting in (was disconnecting fuel pump, ignition and starter everytime i disconnected and reconnected the battery!) Cool i thought all done!! Went to go out in the car after he had left and firstly the car wouldnt unlock, then it did but locked on its own again, then the comfort closure opened everytime i unlocked the door!!!! ARGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! Got in the car started and the bloody ABS light is now on!! ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!  Rang the auto electrician up to say what had happened and the cant bloody come out until Monday morning!!! Nightmare!!!!
