Help With Paint...
« on: 30 May 2009, 13:37 »
Hello Guys and Gals..

I have found the paint code of my car by looking at the service history and it says it is LK3A also known as paprika red. However after looking at samples of this paint, it does not look seem like the correct shade of red, but the tornado red seems more convincing. The other problem is that the car is 20 years old and we all know how much the sun loves red cars! I need the correct paint to touch up some areas, and not sure whether to go with what it says or what I think.

Any Ideas??
What would you do??

Here is a pic of my car if it helps...

You and only you can decide that really.
If it's a different shade of red is it worth the expense and time?
  Your choice.

I know of a paint shop where i live (SE LONDON) who have every code of every make ever made. I am sure you can find one closer

If you speak to a bodyshop they have paint chips so should be able to tell 100% what colour it is, I am sure paprika red was darker.

Cheers guys, i'll have a look and see what they say. I think it may have been paprika red and one time, but over the years it has faded into another shade of red! I may have to just leave it for now and just wait until I can fund a full respray...would have been nice for it to look mint for the shows. O well, thanks anyways!
