best to whip the plugs out and let all the fuel evapourate, or spin engine on starter to blow it all out. next turn engine to tdc and move the leads if necessary, then pop the inlet boot off and check the metering head flap, a backfire can knock the spring out of whack. you need to adjust the spring under the flap so that at rest it is level with the narrowest point of the bowl. to do this you have to unclip the top half of the airbox and adjust the spring underneath the flap
