High Pressure Oil Sensor
« on: 25 April 2009, 20:33 »
I've been using the search feature (badly).

Can anyone point me in the direct of the easiest way to get hold of a high pressure oil sensor? I live in Reading, happy to order online though as well.. cant find them anywhere, and don't wish to end up with the wrong part.

Also is it easy to find, its on the head isnt it?

had a think about this... do you mean the oil temperature sender?

sit on top of the oil cooler, takes 2mins to replace

if this is the part that you need to replace then you might as well get a genuine VW part as non-genuine parts apparently fail after about a year

vw part number: 056919081
cost: £10.17 inc VAT

Cheers guy appreciate the help!

Well i'm really just getting to grips with cars and trying to learn as quickly as poss, I've just been reading these forums religiously and it really does sound like I need to change the Oil Sensor...and the high pressure one at that because my oil light flashes/beeps at around 2100 revs.

So its a sender and not a sensor?

If so i'll pop down the VW garage first thing and get rid of this beeping once and for all

they will probably hold it in stock... you will also need a 24mm deep socket or a large adjustable spanner to change it

Finally got around to ordering this part, the engine was fully heated up after 15 mins driving and the beeping still hadn't started.

Then you can guess what happened next..Awful feeling..

To re-cap, if I rev above 2100 revs or so then the beeping does stop but its very annoying for around town driving and in traffic jams. Would changing the low pressure sensor be a good idea, or would that not cause the beeping when revs are low?
