heya all, am currently in the middle of removing my originall golf mk3 vr6 rear shocks to fit coillies however have got stuck with the inner nut on the bottom of the suspension mount its like inside the tube????? ive takrn the clip out as it just seemed to let the nut spin still, and tried every spanner ive got to hold it but still cant get it undone!

any ideas on how or what size the nut is?

i feel your pain, could be the nut has corroded so isnt the size it should be. use loads of wd40 and try both metric and imperial spanner sizes.

i hate the changing suspension!lol why do we do it :laugh:haha

any idea what size the inner nut should be?

Ok confused, I've just changed the rear shocks on my valver, on my car the 'captive' nuts at the bottom appear to be welded to the axel. As such I'm struggling to understand what your trying to do.

yea on one side of mine the nut was either welded or rusted on but the other wasnt  :undecided:

On both mine and my dads VR6's, the nut was welded to the rear beam so you only need a spanner/socket to undo the bolt, by rights the nut shouldn't move.

The size of the bolt is M10x75 with a M10 Locking nut.

Mine wasn't welded on.

what size spanner fit that then??lol sorry dont know all sizes of nuts! well nope its not welded def spins on both sides
