Oh bo**ocks!!  :cry:  It seems like the 16v clocks we put in have a problem as well. Occasionally there's a horrible whirring screech from the speedo (not the buzzer) when you fiddle with the cable connection it goes (fiddling is poss cos the radio is still out). Found out the prob with the previous 8v clocks with duff fuel gauge was that it had been taken apart and one of the terminal nuts on the gauge replaced but with an insulating washer beneath rather than a springy earthing washer so no contact with the printed circuit, changed it and now I can get it to work off the plug connection OK.  :angry:  Bloody clocks out again I suppose.......I reckon they'll be able to replace themselves soon.........arse!  :laugh:

a spray of silicone lube up the chuff of the speedo might help, if not you could always swap the old one across.
