Engine/Exhaust warning light
« on: 24 September 2009, 20:49 »
Before i get flamed i have searched for this! Just wanted to clarify whether anyone has had experience of it staying on - NOT flashing? Mine came on tonight, just as i'm thinking of getting a diesel... Maybe it's a sign!

If it STAYS on, then that means it is running in 'limp home' mode - probably not revving above 3,200rpm, and probably feels about as powerful as a lawnmower engine.

You really need to get the fault codes read, noted down, and then cleared - otherwise you risk ruining your cat.
