Help my pipe has split!

I have come to work today and found this pipe has split all the wayround and come off....what is it?!?!?!

Hi,
This is the engine block breather hose. It connects to the inlet side of the engine so that any oil vapour is not vented to atmosphere. The car will probably run if you push it back in the hole but it is best to get a new one from VW when you can.

I guess gaffa tape might do the job but because of the amount of heat and oil in that area of the engine I suspect it will off in no time at all.

these dam things break on everyones car, mine is held together with some mega sticky heatproof duct tape stuff
