Need to solve fault code before remap....
« on: 24 April 2009, 10:41 »
Hi,

I am eager to get a stage one remap carried out by R-Tech on my AUM 1.8T but really need to get rid of a reoccurring fault first.

17705 P1297 - Connection charger to throttle valve: pressure dropped.

This fault has been reoccurring since I have owned the car, and have done plenty of research but there doesn't seem to be one definitive answer.

Have fitted 007p in the hope that would solve it in case the diaphragm in the original dv was shot.
Have had new MAF.
Have checked lines/pipes for any obvious splits/boost leaks but found nothing - anyone know most common area for a leak or deteriorated pipes?

Has anyone had this issue and solved it by any means?
Have read about PCV valve under the inlet manifold being a potential problem maybe?

Cheers

Hello m8

Cleaning and readapting the throttle body can sometimes get shut of the 17705 code.

Thanks.
Cleaning as in using some sort of alcohol on the insides of the throttle and the butterfly?

And how do I readapt? Using my diag kit?

Cheers

hello again mate.

clean it out with carb cleaner, make sure ignition is switched off.also the pipe from the metal turbo pipe to pancake pipe can wear on the fitting, there is a green rubber seal on this and can perish.one or both of these should sort that code out.
if your able to pop to our workshop illsort this for you.you will only pay fortheparts if needed.no labour charge.

                                       regards r-tech ben
