Cuts out at 5000 rpm

Whats up.
 Here is my problem: I have a mk3 gti 8v (AGG) . The Car has 197000 km (123125 miles). The thing is that it runs great until it reaches 5000 rpm it just cuts out in every gear. I have changed lots of   things on the car: Throttle body, dizzy, cables, sparks, lambda sensor, oxigen sensor. Lots of money and yes it has improved but it still cuts out at 5000 rpm. The thing is its annoying cuase i know the car can go that little bit further up the rev counter, its lost lots of fun. Give me a hand if anyone might know what the problem may be.

Try and get your ECU checked.  My car kept hitting the rev limiter at 5k and in the end it was a timing prolbem on my ECU

yeah sounds like a ecu / rev limiter problem to me aswell
