Unless you have a lot of money, a lot of time, loadsss of engineering skills and tooling and ridiculous amounts of patentice i personally wouldnt bother.

1.8T  isn't my favoret engine but  it's pritty damb easy to fit.   you can  literaly buy every custom part required off the self as well if yoou want to
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

I did my 20vt conversion myself and to be honest i found it to be a piece of piss.
