Rear VW badge
« on: 19 April 2009, 09:44 »
Hey. I got a mark II Golf and when playing around the other day, I removed it from the rear as it was a little loose anyway. When I took it off, I saw one of the little clips was missing and as I was seeing how well it was in it's mounting, it fell out. So not well, obviously...

Now I'm left with 2 holes leading straight into the boot and a big dent under the boot lid. It's stored in a garage for now so not worried about water getting in, but what should I do, fill and smooth the whole pannel, or use filler and bonding glue ect. to re-attach the badge?

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

You can get new "clips" from VW or go to a scrappy. The ones used to hold the panel behind the door mirrors (inside the car) are a good substitute.

just get some new clips its ALOT easier than welding the holes up, filling etc. . .  Or use some TIGERSEAL :P
