radio code??

I just went into my closest VW garage and said I didn't know the code.  They sat me down, free drinks etc, then 15 minutes later came back with the code, no charge.

Well i spoke to vw today to get them to give me the code for my radio and its gonna cost £25. Where did you all get it done free ? Can vag com recode a radio

i got mine done at guildford vw for free. apparentley the earliest radios dont re code themselves!

Well i have been to another vw dealer who told me its gonna cost £25, i couldnt have kissed more ass too

If it's the one that came std with the car then it will do it automaticaly.....just leave it a few hrs

Not always, mine didn't.  It's worth going to VW.  Takes minutes, it's free, and they tell you what it is for future reference!

Didn't I just turn your ignition on & the radio came back on??

all you need to do is look in the radio manual which should be in your glove compartment it will give you step by step instruction on how to bring it back to life so to speak

The first time yeah.  But a few months ago I had to disconnect the battery to do some stuff.  Once finished the stereo wouldn't work at all, even after a couple of days.
