Dull Rear Bulb
« on: 30 March 2009, 14:22 »
I noticed Sat night that my drivers side rear bulb is barely lit up at night  Is it simply a case of changing the bulb or is there something more sinister, ie, bad earth, etc..?

It is normally the bulb, when you take it out it will be silvered in all probability.

Quite a common MK4 fault with one tail light brighter than the other.

They sort of corrode from the inside. For the sake of a few £ I would replace both sides. Make sure you fit 10w and not 5w bulbs!!

Just change the bulb and if that doesn't solve it then ask the next question.
