Still keep looking at the dash and wondering what that weighs.

Bare dash shell with the metal brackets weighs more than 6kg, just weighed one!
You've just given my dash the kiss of death. Thanks

Paul

The problem is that you have to do something to hold the instruments and ventilation.

Are you confident you can do that for under 6kg?

I have a big list of stuff still to do - just need to finish the MG first!
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Holiday cottages on the Isle of Wight for 2-10 people? PM me.

When i say over 6kg, the scales go up to 6 and the dash pushes them to the limit, so could be a couple of kilos more?

The marshalls will like that as much as your lower dash support

As Beavis has said - I have a set of 'fish scales' here that I've used to weigh a lot of stuff (wheels frinstance) - they go about 20kg.

removing the headlining for the sake of 1.5kg is a bit daft. it seems ok til you get constantly dripped on by condensation.

Ah but it is 1.5kg that is high up and will also reduce your centre of gravity, (only by a small amount I know) plus extra weight for the bits of trim holding the headlining up which I didn't count in the headlining weight.

Haven't had the condensation problem, even when its been tipping down all day and the windows are all steamed up.

Perhaps there's too much hot air in your car

excellent

if it's a track car then you'll have a helmet on anyway so even if it does drip it won't matter. personally on a day to day car i'd keep the headlining (but lose everything else)

Yes its a track car, and yes I would also keep it in on a day to day car.
