when I got my 89 mk2 16v the timing was well out so I adjusted the dizzy and idle control valve and it ran fine and was ideling. ever since that night, it wont idle at all, it always dies when I take my foot off the throttle. so I had a look around the engine and found that all three sensors on the side of the block are not connected, because the spade connector broke off all of them.

went to the stealers to get some new ones yesterday, but they were already closed. so I got some spare ones from chris_white on here (thanks!!).
First of all, can someone explain to me what each of the 3 sensors is for and what they do?
Also which wire goes to which sensor/hole?
is worth trying to solder the spades back onto the sensors?
