Chrome window surrounds

Can someone tell me what MK2 golfs these chrome window surrounds used to be on. How rare are they exactly?

Yes I have seen them on the Golf GL

Only on the early CL's. If you saw it on a GL then it wasn't standard, or it was an option. They also had the chrome look bumpers and around the grille on the CL

I have a late CL, But it was a small bumper version with only crome on the bumpers, Not on the grill

Yeah, was the early cl's!  And there a bugger to find, or rob from a scrappy cos its part of the window seal

I may have been wrong, but it might actually have been on GL's too...  :-[

I'm looking into spraying the surrounds chrome, its all easy, i just cant find a flexible primer at the moment.

i picked up this chrome paint from a car store.

The effect is good but i dont want to go throught the hassle to repaint them due to the crap weather conditions. might give it a go on a spare surround, duno

Yeah, i'm hoping to paint it all up, all i need is the flexible primer, and i think it will be ok... Don't know about doing the boot though, its not done on the boot of all the ones i have seen, but the indent is there like all the other windowes. Should I?
