« on: 06 March 2009, 15:48 »
I have done a search, but it seems as though the q has been asked, but no answer has been given.

I have a mk3 8v, and my speedo has packed up, anyone know how to fix and is it a cable?? its a k reg.

Thanks!!

These speedos are electronic and the sender could be faulty (but reading your other thread where it says kmh etc..its possible they have non original/working dials fitted!!) can you post a part no from the back on the clocks or take a picture.
oh and there fairly cheap to buy and fail easily (I'm on my 3rd set after faulty dials!!)

what can you expect for 600 quid!!

That could mean it's been resprayed or a new boot lid has been put on.

You should of checked certain things over?

I will have to disagree with you, the MK3 is a very solid car, where did you buy it for £600?

Its a 600 pound runaround, bought it off a friend, all I was interested in was whether it had tax and mot, it did, it needs lots of bits done to it, if I wanted a minter, I wouldn't have bought it!

I'm not moaning, simply stating what I'm finding ;-)

even so 600 quid, i'd still say its a cheap car!

Hmmmm 600 notes for a K reg ...........

Not cheap in my book! But hey if you think so!

Sounds like you car has been messed around with by a succession of owners. Must be a good friend! lol
