does anyone know where i can buy a new retaining spring for a front brake caliper for a GTI 16v

 :shocked: Stuck up tits, ill bet they can, loads of cars use a simila set up...

I suppose you could go to a scrap yard  :undecided:

it should do, thewre were only 2 types of caliper on zee MK3 GTI/VR6/16v, those with springs (288) and those without (280)

thanks guys  problem solved today

I tried a different VW dealer today and they sold me the springs for £4.65 pair  :smiley:

a bit different form £80 for a new caliper the other dealer was trying 2 sell me

I thought it sounded abit like BS, ive orderd them seperately for fords before....

bloody stealers.

I tried getting four new centre caps for the alloys on a passat tdi i used to have.  Only to be told i'd have to buy 4 complete new wheels.....

funny that the dealer a few miles away had some on the shelf then!!
