whats this.......(pics)

hi, basically, as you may know, havent had the car long, so i set out on sunday morning to clear the fault codes it had
(that went great by the way, got rid of them all in about an hour, apart from the washer level sensor thingy)
but while i was struggling around trying to find the knock sensors, i came across this, its kind of like a breather shaped thingy....its fooked, anyone shed any light?

(yellow arrow is the problem area, red is where it connects)

Edit, forgot to say, as you can see, its taped up to stop something leaking i imagine

Im not 100% but i think thats a vacum pipe mate. where does the other end go? to the brake servo?

yes it's the brake vaccum hose should run back to the brake servo on the bulkhead on the drivers side

thanks for the replies, so its busted, how much is a new one, is it a big thing for it to be broken? its practically split in half
