ED30 BLUEFIN VS GTI V BLUEFIN
« on: 10 February 2009, 12:56 »
Hi,

Just like to post my experiences on the bluefin.

Originally owned a GTI V which traded in for a ED30, both have been running the bluefin.

I have had no problems what so ever with either.

The ED30 is just "mental" power delivery which is unusable on anything but bone dry roads or a very careful right foot.

The GTI V with bluefin is more usable, just right with earlier power delivery, yes I know when the bigger K04 gets going the ED30 goes into warp drive, but then its difficult to really open the car up on uk roads. Great for santa pod or a german autobahn I suppose?

There is more than one type of Bluefin remap available for the Edition 30 if you ask them ....

I have a DSG Ed 30 and find their newest map a bit too much - it is absolutely awesome but, as you say, it needs the best of conditions to get the power down.

The older DSG Bluefin remap was nowhere near as aggressive and that is what is on my car at the moment.  With that map the car is decidedly quicker than standard but without the problem of getting all the power down.  Now the snow has gone I am getting no wheelspin at all with this map - yet it still puts out 295bhp at the top end
