What I've done so far...need some help
« on: 31 January 2009, 11:24 »
Over the last few days I replaced the heater matrix (and whole heater matrix housing), got rid of the bypass valve and whilst doing this I drained all the coolant and flushed the system, fitted new hoses and then degreesed the engine bay.

Started up first time last night after having sat for 5 days, bled the coolant system then went for a spin.

Getting loads of hot air now   but does this sound normal....

The engine temp needle sits just below half way, then stopped for a while to see if the fan would come on....the engine temp needle went over half way then came back done again (Im assuming this was the thermostat opening as before this the bottom rad pipe wasnt hot but the others all were)...MFA displayed oil temp as between 94 and 98 once hitting 100......all this normal?

The however the fan didnt come on at all, at any point?? When should it come on and is there any way of testing it?

Also just as I drove the car into the garage the oil pressure light flickered every time I accelerated.... :undecided:

Sorry for the long post....can anyone help?

Thanks

Everything sounds good to me. Don't worry about the fan coming on until the ware temp start climbing above 100 degrees. If it does not come on then, start investigating.
But on a side note, re-check all your connections including the black sensor.

Cheers for confirming that for me...
