Help, Climate Control Problem Golf Mk4. Got a mind of it's own!

I have recently purchased A GT TDI with Climatronic.  The problem with it is that it seems to be adjusting the fan speed and which vents are open continuously.  I know that climate adjusts as and when necessary but mine is doing it constantly.  Whether I'm at standstill or driving it still does it.  It sounds like someone is turning the fan speed up and down and opening and closing the vents constantly.  Sometimes the windows just steam up mid journey like the re-circulate button has been pressed but I've not touched a thing!  Guess I'm kind of hoping the climatronic unit can be reset or get a replacement off ebay I guess.  PLEASE HELP

im not sure how these work but i gues its like a thermostat or sensor somewhere. Sounds like that could be faulty so it cant work out what temp it is, so it keeps adjusting and going crazy. Might not need a whole new unit. But i would look into that possibly?
