Remap quick Q
« on: 19 January 2009, 22:28 »
Hi there,

Just wondering if i'm best getting a remap(Revo) after i put a new exhaust and air filter or if it makes any difference if i stick them on afterwards and expect the same gains?

Sorry for the noob Q

Cheers

Max

that will make no difference m8 plus a revo remap is good but they put to much in on the low revs and it doesnt last though the gears.

As from R-TECH its power all the way though the gears its awesome for example R-TECH remapped my 1.8t agu engine and my m8 had a auq(180)standard seat leon revo remap and he could not beat me at all.

so the choose is yours i knw where i would go.

"they put to much in on the low revs and it doesnt last though the gears"...

...Bit of a sweeping statement that, if you're talking about any of our software for a Gti post 2000 it's adjustable so the software can be setup to suit the drivers requirements. i.e. if someone wants a kick low down they can have it but it can also be setup in a much more linear fashion. It all depends on the settings used.

In regards to fitting an exhaust/filter on before or after getting software if you have a later car that we offer stage2 software on you can upgrade from stage1 for the price difference at any point so you wouldn't loose any money by not installing the parts before you have stage1 installed. If you're only looking at a cat back and air filter there's no need for anything other than stage1, and even with a full turbo back exhaust you don't 'need' stage2. I hope this helps.

all i was saying is that my mates seat leon (auq) had to much power on the low rpm and when it got to around 4.5 to 5 rpm the power just went.
But mine never it just was all the way thought gears,i am not saying that your software is rubbish it just wasnt as good as my car,you are a massive company so its obvious that your software is good so dont take it to heart what i said.

It’s down to personal preference.  At the end of the day both Revo & R-Tech give the wide grin factor..,   IMO a good remap = happy customers!  We have a lot of them with numbers still growing day by day and I am sure Kev has a hell of a lot more of them also with numbers growing...

With R-Tech it is just me and Ben running the company we spend a lot of time talking and educating customers and finding out what they want from there pride and joy. I don’t know how other companies work or what they can offer to there customers.  If I was a customer I would be asking lots of questions and finding out what options of remapping style the company can offer me.  If you turn up and say I want a remap you will get what comes probably what sells best and gives the initial wow factor.

It’s like going in to a coffee shop and saying I will have a cup of coffee plz, you will get it black without sugar, when there are other options on offer.... I confuse myself sometimes. :undecided:  but you can see what I am getting at.. If you don’t ask you don’t get what you want.

Nick
