Mine varies from 1/4 to 1/2, it was the same on my previous one too. Ambient air temp does make a difference, especially on older cars...

mines also reading quater and was half in summer, but the ambient air temp has dropped massivly too

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

mine would only go to 1/4, but after: 1) thermostat change, and 2) elimination of an airlock (which took several attempts and included the removal of the bypass valves) it is now working properly, that is, it goes to half.

I don't have by-pass valves  :grin: just copper piping  :shocked:

I'll take the thermostat out at the weekend and test it in some boiling water just to be safe.
Gonna be doing another flush in a few weeks because the crud that came out was brown  :sick:
