Speedometer Stuck
« on: 12 January 2009, 17:25 »
Hi there,

I've just completed transplanting a set of instruments/clocks to replace my old unit which had a faulty rev counter. Upon fixing everything up, the speedo and revs both worked perfectly, for a short while. The speedometer subsequently would remain consistently stuck at around 30mph and would move only once the car is beyond 40mph. The previous speedometer didn't have this problem but would instead tickle at very low speeds. All connections have been checked and seemed fine. Before I embark on dismantling everything again, any advise on the probable cause and root of the problem? Thanks.

Regards: J

Unfortunately, it sounds as if you have bought a duff set of clocks, or some that are not matched to your car. Apart from that... :undecided:

Thanks. Guess that would be a faulty clock. Would have to replace the speedo with my previous unit then.
