« on: 16 June 2004, 10:19 »
Can power steering be added to a mk1 golf cab, if so does anyone know what is involved & how much it could cost??

P.S. might have to change my hood, does anyone know where i can get a replacement or even a power hood (would this be alot of work to convert??)

Thanks

I was told it would cost about ?350 to put power steering on my cab using a second hand unit but I never looked into it too much as it never really bothered me. No idea how much it would cost to put a power hood in but I'm guessing it wouldn't be cheap. I would miss the power hood on mine, it's so much easier than a manual one.
......now officially dubless.

There is a detailed procedure in Haynes' Resoration Manual.
It suggests manufacturers for the parts you will need, if you like I can post an inventory, then it should be easy to do a costing.
