Title: Saving NCB
Post by: Blazing Storm on 14 December 2008, 17:00
Hi peeps,

I'm probably selling my car when my insurance runs out in March and it will have gotten me my first years NCB. My question is, will I lose the 1 years NCB if I don't start another policy straight away because I might not get a new car straight away?

Cheers

I think you NCB will last 2 years, if you dont put it to a new policy within that time you will lose it

So, when I end the policy do I just ask for a certificate that proves I have the 1 years NCB?

Martin, if i cancel a policy, will I lose my years no claims?

I'm not sure if Norwich Union will insure me on the car I want (yet to ring them up) but Bell will. Dont want to cancel it only to find I cant use my No claims anymore :undecided:

Cheers Martin.

I'm not sure what I'll be doing yet. It doesn't seem to make sense spending so much on car insurance when I don't drive much so I may get something cheaper to insure or stop driving for a while. Depends on renewal quotes too but can't imagine it coming down much, if at all.

Yea I have one years no claims at the moment, on my second years insurance policy but my first year with this insurer.

If I cancel and then take out a new policy, I will still get a second years no claims in say January 2010?
