i have it on mine and i put it down to hot inside very cold outside and unless i park in sun it stays misted up
other day screen was piss wet through and when i wiped it off it turned straight to ice
-
mine was as frozen on the inside as it was on the outer
-
heater on and loads of paper towel lol
-
As someone suggested before.. try and get some industrial size silica packs and stash them everywhere. That should dry things out a bit. Ben

Top tip... If you turn your heater to cold a minute or two before you stop the car, you'll get quite a bit less condensation. I'm not sure why - perhaps it helps equalise the temperatures inside the cabin, as condensation only forms where theres a temperature difference.

when my car was leaking water, the condensation was crazy, but as i cured the leak and dried out the water i get less and less condensation.
-
Hiya, mine is like that too. I'm hoping new roof gutter strips will help
-
mine always seems to be rear window first, it was leaking where spoiler bolts come through glass mid windscreen but i have cured that leak

It is moisture in the car condensing on the cold glass. The hotter the car, the colder the outside - the more likely to get condensation. It is down to humidity in the air in your car, ie. you probably have a little bit of a leak.
However, the sweat off a person is just as likely to cause it. It happens on modern cars, just not as noticeable especially if they have the AC on.
You can get big packs of silica on eBay - when I worked at PCW, I would take it out all the new PC boxes and collect it...I had about 4kgs of the stuff - then my dad binned it :(

oh and i find once its misted or iced up, i get puddles in passenger footwell too, its not matrix, ive had that out

Does your fan squeek when its on. Sounds like its coming in through the bonnet scuttle in the fan.

mine was coming through there down to the passanger footwell, the scuttle tray was cracked so bit of silicon sorted it out.

It's kept in a garage though isn't it mate?

Mines in a garage, but I am going to invest in a dehumidifier to keep things nice and dry, that might help.
-
Dehumidifier to get rid of the damp is the answer.

I am actually considering plumbing one in permanently into the Golf, its always going to be a moist car - regardless of what I seal!

no fan squeak at all, i have had the casing out and siliconed around it, so i dont think the leaks there..
nick car cant fit in garage just now as i have spares in there for respray
