Had the rear screen demister on last night but noticed it took more than 20mins to clear. Had noticed a few days ago that it was not clearing properly.
Have not had this problem previously but tbh I havent really used it that much over the year as car is usually garaged on an evening.
It clears very little where the lines run across the screen but the rest never really clears... Anyone else experience anything similar???
thx

I had this problem several months ago when I first purchased my gti, but recently its fine now just taking a few minutes to clear! alltho I have started using rain x anti fog.

I haven't used mine much either but when I do, it works perfectly fine.
You haven't left it on for so long it caused damage to the heating elements have you? I remember something similar being said about the door mirrors.

Might need to pop the soround off and check one of the connectors hasn't come loose. Its never happened on this one but did on my old car

Jeeez that sounds a little technical :embarassed:
Well its due a service in the next week or so... I will leave it to those incompetent little a$$e$ at the dealership to mess that one up. Will report back and findings. Im I still have a brain left after my trip to amsterdam this week (first time)

Is it just your rear window that was misting up? If it was the rest of the car as well you may have a little water leak or did you have something with alot of moisture in the car ? (oh er missus ) Have you used the A/C and turned it off as that can mist up the windows?

I don't have an problem with demisting the rear window, but the windows on my rear doors (I have a 5 door) never seem to get demisted. Even with the heater fans and stuff turned on. Not a big problem, but a bit annoying .

Mine usually clears after a few minutes too!
