Hi there all,
I have been here for a couple of weeks and asked for information and realised that I had not introduced myself (how rude of me).
Anyhow, I bought a 1991 Mk2 Golf GTi 8valve 5 door with 138,000 miles by accident as I was selling a Saab Convertible and was not planning on taking a P/X. However I had managed to persuade the owner just to leave it as it would be difficult to sell it at the moment, however a colleague opened his gob and I ended up having to pay £100.
The car has MOT until Nov 2009 and Tax until December, there is no history and when I got it it was running like a dog. With some help from this forum I have got it running fairly well (but could do with some fine tuning). There are some bits to do mainly paintwork but other than that the interior is good and everything works.
I have never owned on and I was only planning on keeping it until I get my 1991 BMW back on the road but I think I am going to keep it. Just need to subtly tell the missus.
Excellent site and look forward to speaking to you all in the future.
A couple of piccies for you.

There are a few things that I want to do, but it has to be on a budget as I have a bet on that I can make it really nice. First thing to do are the wheels. Then I need to find a couple of arches and possibly a new wing. I think that I will be keeping the car fairly standard though.
