Hi all,
First of all I have been bitten my the modding bug. So here goes...
After a long trawl through ebay.de I manage to get hold of a complete RNS 510 Freeview Kit and TV Free adapter. I only have one issue. I have diagrams of where to connect them to the back of the RNS 510 and I understand exactly which wire goes where but I have no idea how to actualy connect them.
In case any of you didnt know the quadlock is the name given to the loom/adapter that plugs into the back of the RNS510, RCD300 etc.
My TVFree and Freeview adaptor simply have wires running from them but there is no loom/connector. I assume I cant just plug them all into the back of the quadlock at the back of the system. Do I need to get some other kind of loom to pass through the connectors that are already there?
I am dying to get this all setup and running but I am getting frustrated as I am wondering am I being stupid not being able to work it out!

Can you post a picture of what you have so we know what we're looking at.

The above shows the removal of the quadlock

Then here it is. I can see from this one that the pin comes out, I still cant get it out get as I dont have a tool yet to do it.
However even at that this is the input from the main 12V line to simply power the RNS510 or whatever unit you have connected. I dont think I can just plug in an additional wires at each pin. I have been reading up since and for example the TV Free adaptor needs to be plugged in between the RNS and this Quadlock. My thinking has now brought me to these:
These should then allow me to connect as follows - I hope

One is male and one is female
at the moment its like this
12V supply in the quadlock as seen in the pic ----> RNS
but it needs to be
12V supply in the quadlock ---> TV TUNER power ----> TV Free power ----> RNS
The TV Tuner and TV Free adapters I have simply have the wires lose coming out of them such as the wires would be in the pictures above if they were removed pin by pin from the quadlock.

The method used for the phone kits I supply might give you another option -

I do have the special tool which, for what it is, costs quite a lot so maybe some perserverance with a paper clip might be worth a try.

Ok thanks for that!
I have ordered the male/female quadlocks from that guy in Germany. Since posting initially I have discovered that most of the TV Frees come with the exact setup. It seems that because my one was included with my Freeview kit it just came with the wiring. So in essence once I have the quadlocks connected it should be plug and play the same as others are sold out of the box.
Hoping to post pics and report back with how well the freeview works. Kit contains two new active antennas with a twin tuner system which from tests is supposed to be accurate up to high speed.....we will see.
Ill see how I get on with the paper clip then - never thought of that
