Looking to buy a wide arch kit for a MK5 anyone know where to buy one ?
-
Hi There
You might try your VW dealer to see if the body panels/bumpers they used for the 2007 24hr nurburgring race are available from VW Motorsport - doubt it though
Only one ive seen that looked any good
Cheers

....I'll ask my contact at VW Racing for you, but would you accept carbonfibre?
Is it for track use?
-
No its not for the track anything will do

I think a Japanese company does a bolt on kit. I remember seeing photos of it on one of the American forums. That said it looks very obviously bolted on , but maybe it could work if you fill in the gaps or something?
There's also some kind of arch extensions you can get from VW. I've never seen them before but spotted the part number on the accessories page here:
http://www.volkswagen-accessories.ie/lsquokarthoumrsquo_light_alloy_wheels2
It says at the bottom:
Wheelarch extension
These paintable wheelarch extensions (one for each wheel) are required when fitting your Golf with 18" wheels.

I Think this is what your looking for,
The Golf 5 Kit Car is a fearsome opponent on the Nurburgring's Nordschleife and it is available to you exclusively through Bildon Motorsport. The Golf 5 Kit Car (G5K) Body Kit is the same wide body kit that VW Motorsport ran on the GTIs which dominated the 2007 Nurbrurgring 24 hours.

^^^^
Those look uber-cool! But very inappropriate on anything except a fully-prepared GTI track car in my opinion.
-
Looks mental . I have to agree with RedRobin though, you could only ever have it on a high powered track car. I dunno how you would justify a carbon fibre/kevlar full body kit for just popping off to the shops

Well a friend of mine was going down that route (full track spec but on the road) but I think his missus drew the line about the roll-cage!

I'm not sure but i think Extreme Dimensions do a wide body kit for the GTI.
-
Looks nice I must admit.....

There's a company that post on VW Vortex about their progress with an arch extension kit for the GTI. I remember seeing it a few days ago. I'm afraid I don't have a link or any pictures though
