Title: How do you remove the head unit from a Mk5?

I have just got me a VW ipod kit to hook upto my RCD500. But I need to know how to remove the head unit. Do I need some special removal pins?

Is there a step by step guide?

My car is a 2008 R32

pop out the rain sensor on the top of the dash
underneath that will be a T20 torx screw remove it
carefully pull up and unclip the top dash trim
unclip the lower dash heater trim surround
there will be 4 T20 torx screws holding the h/u
refittiing is reversal of removal
