Have you tried this method? I just wondered if there was enough space between the manifold and the edge of the clip to fit the exhaust clip in? I'm about to have a play at the weekend with my scirocco (head gasket blown!) and need to remove these lovely clips! Good tip though!.  ;D

i used a screw driver took ages and u knew when it pinged lol, but thanks to rich i dont have that worry no more, cheers mate  ;D
